Overview
There are Three license types available for Relativity: Royalty-Free, Developer and Full. Restrictions of each license type are described below.
You can see the current license, as well as import a new license in the Relativity Server AdminTool (Windows) or Server Explorer (Mac):

Available license types
Royalty-Free License
Relativity server can be deployed royalty-free, without deployment costs, by anyone with a valid license of Data Abstract (any platform edition). Royalty-free deployment allows you to host up to two Domains, each with up to five Schemas.
To deploy a Relativity Server in royalty-free mode, simply install it on the target system. Royalty-Free is the default mode for Relativity Server, if no other license is found.
You can deploy Relativity Server, in royalty-free mode on any of the three supported platforms (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux), regardless of what edition of Data Abstract you own. You can deploy it on as many different servers as you need.
Developer License
You can may a single instance of Relativity Server with your Data Abstract developer license with to activate its developer mode. With a developer license, you can use Relativity server with no limit on domain, schemas or other functionality, but for development purposes only; you may not use your developer license to deploy Relativity Server for production use .
Relativity Server will (unless it is being run as a service) automatically pick up the Data Abstract license on your development machine and activate the developer mode; you can also manually import your .license file, if you are running Relativity Server on a different machine (or platform) than your Data Abstract development tools.
Full License
To deploy Relativity Server without the restrictions outlined for "royalty-free mode" above, a full licence needs to be purchased per server. Please contact sales@remobjects.com for more information on purchasing Relativity Server licenses.
