Free Pascal is an open source Object Pascal compiler implementation that supports, among others, the Win32, Win64, Mac OS X, Linux 32 and Linux 64 platforms.

The Free Pascal RTL is compatible with Delphi in most aspects. Originally started as a project to have an improved version of Turbo Pascal, now it's been expanded to support all common platforms and Pascal dialects. Included with Free Pascal is a large set of extra libraries, from the Jedi win32 header conversions to GTK translations.

Free Pascal includes a console based IDE like the Turbo Pascal IDE with extended capabilities. Most of our Delphi products (currently RemObjects SDK and Data Abstract) can be compiled with Free Pascal.

There is also a visual IDE for Free Pascal called Lazarus.
