'DbExpress (dbx)' is CodeGear's (Embarcadero ) data driver architecture that replaced the older Borland Database Engine (BDE). First released with Delphi 6 and C++Builder 6, it has gone through several iterations itself, the latest being DBX-5, which will be shipped with Delphi 2009 (Tiburon).

CodeGear supplies dbx drivers for many databases, including Oracle, Firebird, Interbase, DB2, Informix, Microsoft SQL Server ,BlackFish and MySQL.

Additional drivers are available from third parties.
