Borland is the owner company of CodeGear. Before the split, the development tools devision was the part that is now CodeGear. Currently Borland is focused on their Application Lifecycle Management Tools.

In 1997, Borland changed it's name to Inprise Corporation, which was changed back in 2001 after suffering from a poor public image. Borland is still best known for it's development tools Delphi and JBuilder, even though those are split of into CodeGear.
